The maximum vacation hours confidential employees may accumulate by his/her <br />anniversary date shall not exceed twice his/her annual Vacation entitlement, If <br />employment circumstances am such that an employee is not permitted to take all, or a <br />portion of, his/her vacation, the employee may request permission from the City <br />Manager to carry over said unused vacation to the next year. <br /> <br />7.4(3) Vacation SchedulelUsaae <br /> <br /> A. The scheduled use of vacation shall be appreved in advance by the employee's <br /> supervisor. <br /> <br /> B. Except for confidential employees, vacation leaves of less than the employee's <br /> regular workday shall not be deducted from the employee's accrued vacation <br /> leave balance. <br /> <br /> C. Management and Confidential employees may not exhaust accumulated leave <br /> in advance of retirement or separation from the City, unless authorized by the <br /> City Manager. <br /> <br />7.5 Sick Leave <br /> <br />7.5(1) Sick Leave Accrual <br /> <br /> A. Each management and confidential employee shall earn sick leave at the rate <br /> of eight (8.0) hours for each month of service to a maximum accumulation of <br /> one thousand, four hundred forty (1,440) hours of sick leave except as follows: <br /> Management and confidential employees may accumulate an unlimited number <br /> of sick leave hours. except, however, hours accumulated in excess of one <br /> thousand four hundred and forty (1,440) may be used only to apply toward <br /> additional years of service under the current PERS "Credit for Unused Sick <br /> Leave", Government Code, Section 20862.8. <br /> <br />See Appendix D for policies applicable to fire personnel. <br /> <br />Page 10 of 30 <br /> <br /> <br />
