CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 00-123 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT <br />WORKERS' COMPENSATION CLAIMS <br /> <br />OF <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is now pending before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board a case <br /> concerning Steve Dick, a fire captain, and Lucia Mahar, a firefighter; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City's workers' compensation claims administrator has requested authority <br />from the City Council to settle these clalars in the mounts more ~lly discussed in <br />the memoranda dated September 26, 2000 from the Human Resources Manager to <br />the City Attorney; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such requests are reasonable and justified under the circumstances. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />The City Attorney is authorized to setfie the above-mentioned cases in the amounts <br />not to exceed that requested by the Human Rcsoumes Mmmger. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution sixall become ell:active immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 17, 2000 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Councihnembers - Ayala, Dennis, Michclotti, Pico, and Mayor Tatwer <br /> <br />Michael H.
