Public Services Fire Protection <br />Page 36 <br />PUBLIC SERVICES: FIRE PROTECTION <br />Mitigation Measure: G26: Require that all of the roads into and within the project be <br />available for public access; that is, oo gates should be installed <br />to restrict traffic Vows. <br />Impact [o be Mitigated: Cumulative increase in demand for fire protection services, leading to <br />increase in the area exposed to emergency response times exceeding five <br />minutes. <br />AgencyQndividual <br />Responsible for <br />Implementafion: Site developer and City of Pleasanton, Planning Department <br />Implementation Timing: Dn approval of improvement plans and tentative maps <br />Mitigation Specifications: As part of the PUD Development Plan and Development Agreement, <br />specify [hat all roads into and within [he project are public roads and that <br />access cannot be restricted; except for [he alleys serving [he 4,000 square <br />foot lots, which alleys shall be privately owned, but access unrestricted for <br />emergency response vehicles. <br />The August, 2000 Specific Plan states (Fire Protection Guideline 2.2) that <br />all street improvements are to be installed to allow satisfactory response <br />From existing fire service locations and from the new station when it <br />becomes operational, that all roads into and within the planning area are [o <br />be available for public access (except the alleys as noted above), that <br />traffic calming features are to be designed to allow emergency access, and <br />that the planning area will not have gated roadways that restrict public <br />access or hinder fire protection response capabilities. <br />PUD Condition 63(h) requires that all public and private streets, <br />driveways, aisles, and alleys designated as £re lanes be maintained in <br />accordance with the Uniform Fire Code and that all roads on the site must <br />be accessible at all times form the start of constmction until the project is <br />completed. <br />Agency/Individual <br />Responsible for <br />Monitoring: City of Pleasanton, Planning Department <br />
