NOW, THEREFORE, Livermore and Pleasanton, for and in consideration of the mutual <br /> <br /> promises and agreements herein contained. do agree as follows: <br /> SECTION 1. DEFINITIONS <br /> <br /> Unless the context otherwise requires, the terms defined in this Section 1 shall for all <br /> <br /> purposes of this Agreement have the meanings herein specified. <br /> Act <br /> <br /> The term "Act" shall mean Articles I through 4 (commencing with Section 6500) of <br /> Chapter 5 of Division 7 of Title I of the Government Code of the State of California. as <br /> amended. <br /> <br /> Authorit~ <br /> <br /> The term "Authority" shall mean the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Joint <br /> <br />Powers Authority created by this Agreement. <br /> <br /> Board <br /> <br /> The term ~'Board" shall mean the governing board of the Authority. <br /> <br /> I.ivermore <br /> <br /> The term "Livermore" shall mean the existing municipal corporation known as the City <br />ofLivermore, a general law city duly organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws and <br />the constitution of the State of California. <br /> <br /> Pleasanton <br /> <br /> The term "Pleasanton" shall mean the existing municipal corporation known as the City <br />ofPleasanton, a general law city duly organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws and <br />the constitution of the State of Califorala. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
