CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 00-106 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CERTIFYING THAT CITY ASSESSMENTS <br />COMPLY WITH PROPOSITION 218 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />every year cities (and some special districts) throughout Alameda County request <br />the County to place on the property tax rolls taxes and assessments that the cities <br />and the special districts have levied; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />because of Proposition 218 concerns, the Couttty Auditor has requested the <br />requesting agencies (1) to certify that the taxes and assessments that were to be <br />placed on the 2000/2001 tax roll meet the requirements of Proposition 218, and <br />(2) to indemnify the County should there be a challenge to the tax or assessment on <br />grounds that it doesn't comply with the requirements of Proposition 218; and <br /> <br />because City staff has discussed these various assessments at length with the City <br />Council in context of proposition 218 and because the Council has taken action to <br />continue to levy these various assessments, the City is satisfied that the <br />assessments that it has requested the County to place on rite 2000/2001 tax rolls <br />meet the requirements of Proposition 218 <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />The City Council certifies to the County of Alameda that the assessments that the <br />City will request the County to place on the 2000/2001 tax roll meet the <br />requirements of Proposition 218 and that the City Attorney is authorized to sign <br />the attached Certification and Indemnification Agreement. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON AUGUST 1, 2000 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> <br />
