CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 00-076 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ALAMEDA COUNTY 20-YEAR <br />TRANSPORTATION EXPENDITURE PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Alameda County Transportation Authority has approved the Alameda County <br />20-Year Transportation Expenditure Plan pursuant to the authority of the State <br />Public Utilities Code, Sections 180000, el. seq.; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the 20~Year Transportation Expenditure Plan was developed by an Expenditure <br />Plan Development Committee composed of 40 Alameda County citizens and was <br />modified and approved by a Steering Committee composed of 11 representatives <br />from Alameda County cities, the Board of Supervisors, AC Transit and BART; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the 20-Year Transportation Expenditure Plan consists of programs and projects <br />that are essential to the movement of people and goods throughout Alameda <br />County and will provide critical assistance in solving significant transportation and <br />congestion problems of Alameda County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the interests of the City of Pleasanton and its citizens will be bene~ted by the <br />implementation of the 20-Year Transportation Expenditure Plan and the extension <br />of the one-half of one percent retail sales/use tax to support the new <br />Transportation Expenditure Plan; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br />Section 2: <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Pleasanton does hereby approve the Alameda <br />County 20-Year Transportation Expenditure Plan. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Pleasanton recommends that the Alameda County <br />Board of Supervisors place a proposition on the November 2000 ballot to <br />authorize the extension of the one-half of one percent sales/use tax to fund the <br />programs and projects described in the Alameda County 20-Year Transportation <br />Expenditure Plan. <br /> <br /> <br />
