CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PL~ASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-131 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CONTINUING FUNDING FOR 't~lE <br />DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION FOR 1994-96 <br /> <br />'WHEREAS, at its meeting of November 1, 1994, the City Council reviewed the report of the <br /> City Manager (SR 94:374) regarding the Downtown Revitalizntion Plan and a <br /> proposal to continue financial support to the Downtown; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Confirms the budgeted appropriation of $50,000 for fiscal year 1994-95 and <br />approves an appropriation of $50,000 for fiscal year 1995-96. <br /> <br />~aeh appropriation shall be paid in two $25,000 installments, one payment to <br />continue marketing efforts and one payment to fund additional hours to expand <br />the focus of the Ple~an_ton Downtown Association from Promotions and <br />Marketing to a full "California Main Street Model Program"; this funding is <br />intended to be start-up money to evaluate the benefits of an expanded program <br />with the intent that the Downtown Association will fund continuation of the <br />program if desired. <br /> <br />City staff will meet with the staff and Board of the Pleasanton Downtown <br />Association at the beginning and end of the funding year to review the goals as <br />established in the work plans, to review accomplishments in accordance with the <br />recommendations and to ensure that the funding is spent as authorized by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />City staff and the Board of the Plpnunton Downtown Association shall explore <br />amending the Downtown Business Improvement Distxict to include property <br />owners as allowed by new state legislation, to assist in funding efforts of the <br />expanded program. <br /> <br /> <br />
