CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAIVlEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-70 <br /> <br />I~Y-QOLUTION APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR <br />GRANT FUNDS FROM THE CALIIFORNIA USED OIL <br />RECYCLING BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM TO DEVELOP <br />AND MAINTAIN A USED OIL RECYCLING PROGRAM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the people of the State of Califomia have enacted the California Oil Recycling <br />Enhancement Act that provides funds to cities and counties for establishing and <br />maintaining local used oil collection programs that encourage recycling or <br />appropriate disposal of used oil; and <br /> <br />the California Integrated Waste Management Board (IWMB) has been delegated <br />the responsibility for the administration of the program within the staB, setting <br />up necessary procedures governing application by cities and counties under the <br />program; and <br /> <br />said procedures established by the ~2alifomia Integrated Waste Management Board <br />require the applicant to certify by resointion the approval of application before <br />submission of said application to the state; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of California for <br /> development of the project. <br /> <br />NOW, TIIEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />S~tion 1: <br /> <br />Approves the filing of an application for the California Used Oil Recycling Block <br />Grant Program, under the California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act for state <br />grant assistance for the project specified above. <br /> <br />Section 2: <br /> <br />Appoint~ the Direc~r of Public Works as agent of the City of Pleasanton m <br />cenduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including, but not <br />limited to, applications, agreements, amendments, payment requests and other <br />work which may be necessary or the completion of the aforementioned project. <br /> <br />Section 3: <br /> <br />The City will retain the services of a consulting firm to develop and implement <br />a used oil program as approved by the State of California Integrated Waste <br />Management Board. <br /> <br /> <br />
