CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAIVlEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 94-70 I~Y-QOLUTION APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM THE CALIIFORNIA USED OIL RECYCLING BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM TO DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN A USED OIL RECYCLING PROGRAM WHEREAS, the people of the State of Califomia have enacted the California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act that provides funds to cities and counties for establishing and maintaining local used oil collection programs that encourage recycling or appropriate disposal of used oil; and the California Integrated Waste Management Board (IWMB) has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the staB, setting up necessary procedures governing application by cities and counties under the program; and said procedures established by the ~2alifomia Integrated Waste Management Board require the applicant to certify by resointion the approval of application before submission of said application to the state; and WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of California for development of the project. NOW, TIIEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: S~tion 1: Approves the filing of an application for the California Used Oil Recycling Block Grant Program, under the California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act for state grant assistance for the project specified above. Section 2: Appoint~ the Direc~r of Public Works as agent of the City of Pleasanton m cenduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to, applications, agreements, amendments, payment requests and other work which may be necessary or the completion of the aforementioned project. Section 3: The City will retain the services of a consulting firm to develop and implement a used oil program as approved by the State of California Integrated Waste Management Board.
