CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-66 <br /> <br />RESOLUIION NAMING THE FOOTBRIDGE AT <br />HOPYARD ROAD/PLEASANTON CANAL AS ,,CH1LrlREN,S <br />BRIDGE" <br /> <br />in 1971, two children, Brian Bellinger and Micheln Halstead, lost their lives in <br />a traffic accident in the vicinity of the new footbridge located at Hopyard Road <br />and the Pleasanton Canal; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />John Bartlett, a Pleasanton resident, has asked that the City Council authorize a <br />plaque to be placed at the bridge in memory of Brian Bellinger and Michele <br />Halstead, and has pledged a donation of $1,000 rewards the cost of the plaque; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />The City Council designates "Children's Bridge" as the name of the pedestrian <br />footbridge located at Hopyard Road and the Pleasanton Canal, in memory of <br />Brian Bellinger and Michele Halstead. <br /> <br />Section 2: <br /> <br />Council expresses its appreciation to John Bartlett for his pledge and directs staff <br />to work with Mr. Bartlett in the design for the plaque. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I H~REBy CERTIFY THAT ~ FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY TttE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEtcl'lhrO I--I~I,D ON JUNE 7, 1994 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Councilmembers - Dennis, Mohr, Pico, Scribner, and Mayor Tamer <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Michael H.
