CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 74-185 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT THE CITY OF PLEAS- <br />ANTON IS PROVIDING FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES <br />WITHIN ITS JURISDICTION AND REQUESTING EXEMP- <br />TION BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS PURSUANT TO <br />GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 25643 OF COSTS FOR <br />PROVIDING FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES IN ANY FIRE <br />DISTRICT, INCLUDING THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, <br />WITHIN ITS BOUNDARIES. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has its own Fire Department <br /> for purposes of structural and grass fires which <br /> occur within the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 25643, a city <br /> which provides its own fire protection services may <br /> request the Board of Supervisors prior to March 1 <br /> of any year to exempt the city from assessment for <br /> the following fiscal year andany year thereafter of <br /> any portion of the costs of County fire protection <br /> services~ except for the costs of forest, range and <br /> watershed fire protection within State responsibility <br /> for which the County is not reimbursed by the State. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Fire protection services within the City of Pleas- <br />anton are provided by the City of Pleasanton Fire Department. <br />Section 2. The City of Pleasanton, pursuanL Government Code <br />Section 25643, hereby requests that the Board of Supervisors <br />refrain from assessing during fiscal year 1975-76 and any year <br />thereafter any portion of the costs of County fire protection <br />services, except for the costs of forest, range, and watershed <br />fire protection within State responsibility areas as defined <br />in Part 2 (commencing with Section 4104) of Division Four of the <br />Public Resources Code, for which the County is not rein~ursed <br />by the State. <br /> <br /> <br />
