CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAN~DA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 75-.88 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION COMME~.~P~TING "LET THE GOOD <br />TIMES ROLL II.'! <br /> <br />Everyone was in a dither, everyone was in a stew <br />V~orking and planning~ preparing for Good Times II~ <br />The Question arose, ~lwho would be mayor for a day?" <br />Me! Me~ Me~ Cleary~ Carter B~ or Williams would say. <br /> <br />But out of the hectic in.-fighting that was bred <br />Came a clear sighted, level head <br />No other than Pleasanton Mayor Ed Kinney <br />With an idea he had contemplated aplenty. <br /> <br />'~Why not be councilmembers for a day, <br />That way each can be a dignitary in your own way!~1 <br />But ~hen the problem became ~- who to choose? <br />There were nine men and one fem~ eight had to lose! <br /> <br />Mayor Kinney agreed that he would take Cleary~ <br />After all, two Irishmen would be so cheery, <br />Blue eyed, ruddy~ witty and wild, <br />you just knew that each was a grown child. <br /> <br />But ~en there was Frank Dill, the morning jock <br />~'~o could he be? Who could stand the shock? <br />Aged and mature~ bon vivant, a man who'd been around <br />He matched no other than Bill Herlihy, Mayor <br /> Pro tem of P--Town. <br /> <br />The Great Rutabaga, Carter B. Smith <br />He needed someone to converse with. <br />On roses, Charlotte, his Horticultural Society <br />Be got Bob Philcox~ a baker with propriety - or <br /> was it notoriety. <br /> <br />Joyce Le Claire was the nex[ to be assigned. <br />She got Dave Niles -- the sexy Italian with wine. <br />A feminist~ a NOWer; true blue <br />Stuck with an MCP, what will the Libbers do? <br /> <br />And finally~ Les Williams' turn ca~e around. <br />He was assigned to the newest in town, <br />Roger McLain~ guardian against airpor~ schemes. <br />He could relate to William~s fantasy, airlike dreams. <br /> <br />With assignments made to personalities in the know, <br />It was decided to honor those who really run the show! <br />So managers and attorney and Isabella too <br />Acknowledgement goes to each of you! <br /> <br />Managers of cities and radio stations are a funny lot. <br />~ork~ worry and wonder while everyone else cares no~. <br />SO Bill Edgar and Bill ~yer are a compatible pair, <br />To pamper headaches, heartburn and tearing of hair. <br /> <br /> <br />
