provements undertaken by the City of Pleasanton as a result of <br />an individual property owner's and/or rentor's refusal to do <br />so shall be billed to the property owner and/or rentor. <br /> <br /> d. Any post, pole or structure upon which a mailbox <br />rests shall be made of such material as to be subject to removal. <br />The post, pole or structure shall have installed on them re- <br />flectors which shall be readily visible to the traveling public. <br />No post, pole or structure shall extend beyond either side of <br />either end of the mailbox resting on it. Concrete shall not <br />be placed in the cavity of any post, pole or structure except <br />below the surface of the ground or sidewalk within which it has <br />been placed. <br /> <br /> e. If the rules and regulations of the United States <br />Postal Service shall be amended or legislation is passed allowing <br />for door to door mail delivery, at such time as corrective City <br />ordinances are passed (if necessary) all curbside and/or cluster <br />mailboxes shall be removed by the property owner and/or resident. <br />All encroachment permits allowing for curbside and/or cluster <br />mailboxes shall be deemed to be revoked upon the effective date <br />of the corrective City ordinances. <br /> <br /> f. Mailboxes erected at or near the curb shall be <br /> <br />of a type conforming to those shown in Exhibit A attached hereto <br />and incorporated herein by reference. Parcel mailboxes, or <br />other oversized mailboxes shall not be permitted. Only letter <br />size mailboxes may be installed pursuant to this resolution. <br /> <br /> g. The resident shall be solely responsible for any <br /> injuries to any individual or property caused by the erection <br /> of a curbside mailbox. The encroachment permit shall include <br /> a provision holding the City harmless from any damage or injury <br /> resulting from the existence of a curbside mailbox and indicating <br /> that installation of such a mailbox is at the owner's own risk. <br /> <br /> <br />
