WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 75-184 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION FIXING THE TAX RATE FOR THE <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON DURING THE FISCAL YEAR <br />1975-76 AND ESTABLISHING A SPECIAL TAX <br />LEVY PURSUANT SECTION 8809 OF TEE STREETS <br />AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton, a general law city, must es- <br />tablish its 1975-76 fiscal year tax rate and notify <br />the County Assessor of said tax rate before September <br />1, 1975; and <br /> <br />SB-90 (Chapter 1406, Legislative Stats, 1972) limits <br />the ability of the City Council to raise the tax rate <br />in the City of Pleasanton beyond that established for <br />fiscal year 1972-73, except for certain reasons; and <br />it would be possible for the City Council, pursuant <br />to Assembly Bill No. 2008 to accumulate allowable tax <br />increases not taken in a previous year in which cir- <br />cumstances allowing the increase under SB-90 occurred; <br />and <br />during fiscal year 1974-75, a four cent increase on <br />the tax could have been posed; and <br />during fiscal year 1975-76 the maximum general purpose <br />tax rate which can be imposed is $1.82; and <br />the City Council wishes to increase the general purpose <br />tax rate by 13 cents; and <br /> <br />· the City is the successor in interest to the Pleasanton <br />Township County Water District, Assessment District <br /> <br />No. 1; and <br /> <br />the City, due to delinquencies on the payment of the <br />assessments in said assessment district has had to <br />advance from the general fund the sum of $39,000 to <br />keep current 1915 Act bonds in effect; and <br /> <br /> <br />
