CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAb~DA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 75-183 <br /> <br />REQUESTING AN EXTENSION OF TIME FOR ADOPTION OF GENERAL <br />PLAN DUE TO AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 65302.2 of the Government Code requires every <br /> city to have a general plan which contain the elements as <br /> set forth in the Government Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton adopted its first General Plan in <br /> 1964 and amended it in 1968; and is in the process of <br /> finalizing a new General Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, beginning in the early 1970's, the City began the neces- <br /> sary studies and formed a citizens committee for the <br /> purpose of revising the 1968 General Plan; and <br /> <br />I~HEP~AS, the City Council, on December 7, 1973, adopted a new <br /> General Plan containing all of the elements required to <br /> that date, said General Plan being tentatively adopted <br /> pending completion of an economic analysis; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on March 31,1975, the City received the required economic <br /> report for which it had contracted and has been in the <br /> <br /> process of evaluating said report on its General Plan;and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the California Environmental Quality Act is applicable to <br /> the adoption of general plans and the City has been in <br /> the process of preparing an environmental impact report <br /> which will be completed in September; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to finalize the impact report, it is necessary <br /> to allow for public comment on said General Plan, thus <br /> extending the time in which the General Plan will be <br /> adopted to and including January 1, 1976. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Requests the Council on Intergovernmental Relations to <br /> grant an extension of time to and including January 1, 1976 within <br /> which the City of Pleasanton may finalize its General Plan in <br /> <br /> <br />
