CITY OF PLEASANTON COUNTY OF ALAb~DA STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 75-183 REQUESTING AN EXTENSION OF TIME FOR ADOPTION OF GENERAL PLAN DUE TO AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT WHEREAS, Section 65302.2 of the Government Code requires every city to have a general plan which contain the elements as set forth in the Government Code; and WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton adopted its first General Plan in 1964 and amended it in 1968; and is in the process of finalizing a new General Plan; and WHEREAS, beginning in the early 1970's, the City began the neces- sary studies and formed a citizens committee for the purpose of revising the 1968 General Plan; and I~HEP~AS, the City Council, on December 7, 1973, adopted a new General Plan containing all of the elements required to that date, said General Plan being tentatively adopted pending completion of an economic analysis; and WHEREAS, on March 31,1975, the City received the required economic report for which it had contracted and has been in the process of evaluating said report on its General Plan;and WHEREAS, the California Environmental Quality Act is applicable to the adoption of general plans and the City has been in the process of preparing an environmental impact report which will be completed in September; and WHEREAS, in order to finalize the impact report, it is necessary to allow for public comment on said General Plan, thus extending the time in which the General Plan will be adopted to and including January 1, 1976. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Requests the Council on Intergovernmental Relations to grant an extension of time to and including January 1, 1976 within which the City of Pleasanton may finalize its General Plan in
