CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFO~qIA <br /> <br /> CSOLUTION NO. 75-202 <br /> <br /> RE: ENCOURAGING THE ITIZENS OF PLEASANTON TO TAKE ACTIVE <br /> PARTICIPATION IN THEIR GOVERNMENT AND BECOME INFORMED <br /> ABOUT THE PROPOSITIONS FOR THE JUNE, 1976 PRIMARY ELECTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States form of government is based upon the <br /> concept of participation by the individual thru the <br /> <br /> electoral process in the functioping of government; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to make decisions in matters presented to the <br /> public at elections by means of propositions, it is <br /> necessary for the electorate to become informed of the <br /> contents of said propositions as well as the pros and <br /> cons of the same; and <br /> <br />I~HEREAS, if the government is to function for the people, it <br /> requires active participation by the people in their <br /> government; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council encourages the citizens of the City <br /> of Pleasanton to take active participation in their <br /> government by attending Council meetings, Planning Com- <br /> mission meetings and other governmental functions to <br /> become aware of the issues facing the City. <br /> <br />Section 2.
