CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 75-254 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A PRO RATA CHARGE FOR <br />EACH CANDIDATE FOR THE MJRCH 2, 1976 MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, §10012 of the Elections Code authorizes the City Council <br /> to establish certain changes for handling candidate <br /> election materials; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council at its meeting of November 24, 1975 <br /> considered the options available under the above mentioned <br /> section for increasing the length of the candidate's <br /> statement, billing candidates the pro rata cost of print- <br /> ing and mailing to voters the candidate's statement and <br /> setting rules and regulations for additional materials; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The candidate's statement shall not exceed 200 words. <br /> <br /> Section 2. Each candidate desiring a candidate's statement shall <br /> be billed by the City Clerk a pro rated amount for the <br /> costs of printing, handling and translating the candidates <br /> statement. <br /> <br /> Section 3. No materials other than the voter's pamphlet and <br /> sample ballot shall be transmitted by the City Clerk to <br /> the voters. If a candidate wishes to send additional <br /> materials to the voters, it will have to be at the candi-~ <br /> date's expense and by persons other than the City. <br /> <br />Section 4.
