CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 76-28 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE METERING OF THE <br />HIGHLAND OAKS SEWER AND EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT <br />WITH BROWN & CALDWELL <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br /> the City Council at its meeting of October 28, 1975 <br /> approved a study by Brown & Caldwell, Engineers re- <br /> garding alternative methods of metering the Highland <br /> Oaks sewer as well as correcting other problems in <br /> this line relating to plugging where it crosses under <br /> the Alamo Canal and potential problems resulting from <br /> overflowing due to such plugging; and <br /> said report was reviewed by the staffs of both the <br /> City and V.C.S.D. and by the joint City-V.C.S.D Sewer <br /> Committee; and <br /> as a result of these meetings it was determined that <br /> the best alternative method available would involve <br /> the installation of a meter in the existing~siphon, <br /> installing an automatic flushing system to keep the <br /> siphon clear and installing an alarm system to warn <br /> of any back up of sewage; and <br /> it is estimated that the cost of the work to be per- <br /> formed as related above will be between $35,000 and <br /> $40,000; and <br /> <br /> Brown & Caldwell, Engineers have prepared a proposal <br /> for completing final plans and specifications for said <br /> project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council at its meeting of February 9, 1976, <br /> reviewed a report from the Assistant City Manager <br /> dated February 5, 1976 to which was appended the <br /> February 4, 1976 Brown & Caldwell Proposal for Design <br /> Services Highland Oaks System Improvements. <br /> <br /> <br />
