CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION N0. 76-146 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A REVOCABLE LAND USE PERMIT <br />TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY AND <br />SOUTHWEST RESEARCH INSTITUTE FOR PURPOSES OF INSTALL- <br />ING A METEOROLOGICAL TOWER <br />WHEREAS, the United States Department of the Army has contracted <br />with Southwest Research Institute to conduct a research <br />program entitled "Evaluation of the Effects Associated <br />with the Application of Waste Water to Land;" and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton sewage treatment plant has been <br />selected as a subject for the three-year study to be <br />undertaken by Southwest Research Institute; and <br />WHEREAS, in conjunction with the performance of the above study, <br />it is necessary to construct a 102-foot meteorological <br />tower on property that the City of Pleasanton leases from <br />the City and County of San Francisco; and <br />WHEREAS, the City and County of San Francisco intends to issue an <br />18-month revocable land use permit to allow the construc- <br />tion of said meteorological tower in order that the afore <br />mentioned research program can be undertaken provided the <br />City of Pleasanton consents to said use;and <br />WHEREAS, Southwest Research Institute will reimburse the City of <br />Pleasanton for the leased cost of said land required for <br />the tower in addition to crop losses resulting from its <br />installation and operation; and <br />WHEREAS, the installation of the tower will not interfere with any <br />of the operations at the City's Sunol sewage treatment <br />plant; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Consents to the City and County of San Francisco <br />issuing a revocable land use permit to the United °~tates <br />Department of the Army and Southwest Research Institute <br />for the purposes of installing a 102-foot meteorological <br />tower and conducting a research program on property which <br />
