CITY OF PLEASANTON COUNTY OF ALAMEDA STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION N0. 76-146 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A REVOCABLE LAND USE PERMIT TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY AND SOUTHWEST RESEARCH INSTITUTE FOR PURPOSES OF INSTALL- ING A METEOROLOGICAL TOWER WHEREAS, the United States Department of the Army has contracted with Southwest Research Institute to conduct a research program entitled "Evaluation of the Effects Associated with the Application of Waste Water to Land;" and WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton sewage treatment plant has been selected as a subject for the three-year study to be undertaken by Southwest Research Institute; and WHEREAS, in conjunction with the performance of the above study, it is necessary to construct a 102-foot meteorological tower on property that the City of Pleasanton leases from the City and County of San Francisco; and WHEREAS, the City and County of San Francisco intends to issue an 18-month revocable land use permit to allow the construc- tion of said meteorological tower in order that the afore mentioned research program can be undertaken provided the City of Pleasanton consents to said use;and WHEREAS, Southwest Research Institute will reimburse the City of Pleasanton for the leased cost of said land required for the tower in addition to crop losses resulting from its installation and operation; and WHEREAS, the installation of the tower will not interfere with any of the operations at the City's Sunol sewage treatment plant; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1.
