CITY OF PLEASANTON COUNTY OF ALAMEDA STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 76-208 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A PROCEDURE FOR THE DONATION OF BUS SHELTERS OR BENCHES WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has received inquiries from businesses concerning the possibility of donating benches or shelters at B.A.R.T. Express Bus Stops~ and WHEREAS, it is desirable to establish a policy with respect to the donation of such benches or shelters; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section t. Any person, group or business wishing to donate either a bench or a shelter at bus stops within the City of Pleasanton shall abide by the following procedure: Location. The person or firm select which stop they wish to place a bench or shelter. The site must be one of those listed in the report of the Assistant to the City Manager dated August 27, 1976 relating to B.A.R.T. Express Bus Shelter and Benches. If the site does not have room in the City right-of- way to construct a shelter, and the person or firm making the offer still wants to donate a shelter, they must negotiate the right-of-way with the proper- ty owner for any additional property required. The specific site must be approved by the Community Development Department. Shelters. All shelters on the bus route will be of the type provided by A. C. Transit. Therefore, anyone wishing to donate a shelter would be required to purchase the shelter and provide the slab. A plaque would be place in the slab showing who had donated the shelter, however, no other advertising would be permitted. Section 2. Benches. All benches would be of a heavy construc- tion that could be fastened securely to the side- walk. A plaque (8" x 10") could be placed on the back of the bench showing who had made the donation, but no other advertising would be permitted. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. THIS RESOLUTION WAS ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF -1-
