WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 76-204 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CONTINUATION OF THE <br />PLEASANTON TREE PLANTING PROGRAM <br /> <br />in 1974, the Trees For Pleasanton Committee was estab- <br />lished for the purpose of raising money to purchase <br />and plant trees in Pleasanton; and <br />some 243 trees were purchased and planted under this <br />program in the City in 1975; and <br />the City Council, at their meeting of September 13, <br />1976, received a report from the City Manager, dated <br />September 8, 1976, as well as comments from members <br />of the community relating to the success of the pro- <br />gram and recommending that it be continued; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorizes the continuation of the tree planting pro- <br /> gram and use of a portion of the funds collected by <br /> the Committee to purchase and plant trees at this time <br /> for replacement of those trees which have been <br /> vandalized or have died from the original 243 trees <br /> trees currently <br /> <br /> and to fill in gaps in locations where <br /> exist but additional trees are needed. <br /> <br />Section 2~ This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON SEPTEMBER 13, 1976 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, eClaire, Mercer and <br /> Mayor Philcox ~C <br />NOES: None ~.~~ <br />ABSENT: None k~kl <br /> · Philcox, Ma r <br /> <br />~ ~ AS ~ <br />City A~torney ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
