~E~AS, pursuant to Government Code Section 35305, it is necessary -2- for the City Council to adopt a resolution giving notice of proposed annexation and setting a public hearing for written protests against the annexation by any person owning real property within the territory. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notice is hereby given of the proposed annexation of 16.4% acres to the City of Pleasanton, which is more particularly described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference and designated Annexa- tion No. 71 to the City of Pleasanton. Section 2. A public hearing of written protests is hereby estab- lished to be held at the City Council Chambers, 30 West Angela Street, on January 3f 1977~ at 8:00 P.M. Section 3. At the above time, date and place, the City Council will consider written notices filed by property owners within the boundaries of the proposed annexation in opposition to the annexation of this property to the City of Pleasanton. Section 4. Pursuant to Sections 35306 and 35318 of the Government Code, the City Council fixes as the date that the terri- tory described in Exhibit A shall become part of the City of Pleasanton the effective date of an ordinance approving the annexation adopted pursuant to Government Code Section 35314, should there be no majority protest. Section 5o The City Clerk, pursuant to Section 35305 of the Government Code, shall cause a copy of this resolution to be sent to the governing board of each school district which in part or whole is included in the boundaries of Annexation No. 71 and which has made written request for said notice. Section 6. The City Clerk shall cause this resolution to be published and other notifications to be given as required by Section 35311 of the Government Code.
