CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAmeDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFOP~IA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 76-278 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TERMINATION OF THE USE OF <br /> BONITA PARK <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton obtained a permit from the <br /> San Francisco Water Department for the use of Bonita <br /> Park~ said permit being dated June 21, 1966; and <br /> <br />~EREAS, the Park and Recreation Commission at its meeting of <br /> October 22, 1976 adopted Resolution No. 76-23 recon~ending <br /> <br /> to the City Council termination of said permit~ and <br />WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Corkmission noted tha~ the <br /> <br /> City is expending $2,400 a year for maintenance of <br /> said park, continual vandalism exists at the park and <br /> difficulty exists in scheduling the use of the park <br /> <br /> since it is isolated from the rest of the City~ and <br />WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Connnission also reco~enl~ed <br /> <br /> that the City Council authorize Staff to contact the <br /> East Bay Regional Park District about the possibilities <br /> of leasing Bonita Park as a regional park; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council at its meetin~ of December 6, 1976 <br /> considered the resolution prepared by the Park and <br /> Recreation Commission with respect to Bonita Park; <br /> <br />NOW~ THEreFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />_RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorizes the Staff to advise San Francisco Water <br /> Deparment that the City will terminate the use of <br /> <br /> Bonita Park in accordance with the termination proceedings <br /> set forth in the permit ~ith San Francisco Water <br /> Department for the use of said park. <br /> <br /> Section 2. Authorizes the Staff to contact the East Bay Regional <br /> Park District to inform them of the City's action and <br /> to suggest that the park district may be interested in <br /> considering Bonita Park as a regional park. <br /> <br /> <br />
