CITY OF PLEASANTON COUNTY OF ALamEDA STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 76-294 A RESOLUTION INITIATING A ZONING ORDINANCE A~NDMENT BY THE CITY COUNCIL TO HAVE THE PLANNING COMMISSION CONSIDER THE ESTABLISHMENT AS CONDITIONAL USES CONVENIENT MARKETS IN THE C-C (CENTRAL COMmeRCIAL) DISTRICT, C-N (NEIGHBORHOOD COE.@~RCIAL) DISTRICT ANDiANY OTHER APPROPRIATE DISTRICT WHEREAS, the City Council by Section 2-12.04, Article 29, Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasan- ton can initiated zoning ameDdments; and WHEREAS, the City Council is concerned about the location of retail stores commonly referred to as convenience markets which are open on a 24 hour basis; and WHEREAS, the City Council believes that it may be appropriate to require said convenience markets and other markets to be conditional uses in the C-C C-N (Neighborhood Comercial) priate districts~ and ~qHEREAS, the City Council wishes the Planning Commission to study this matter in order to obtain a report from the Planning Co~ission with respect to this issue. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Initiates pursuant to Section 2-12.04, Article 29~ Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton a zoning ordinance amendment study to deter- mine if it is appropriate to require as conditional uses in the C-C (Central Comaercial) District, C-N (Neighbor- hood ConLmercial) District and any other appropriate district the location of food markets especially those tkat operate on a 24 hour basis and commonly known as convenience markets.
