CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALamEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 76-294 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION INITIATING A ZONING ORDINANCE A~NDMENT BY THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL TO HAVE THE PLANNING COMMISSION CONSIDER THE <br /> ESTABLISHMENT AS CONDITIONAL USES CONVENIENT MARKETS IN <br /> THE C-C (CENTRAL COMmeRCIAL) DISTRICT, C-N (NEIGHBORHOOD <br /> COE.@~RCIAL) DISTRICT ANDiANY OTHER APPROPRIATE DISTRICT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council by Section 2-12.04, Article 29, Chapter <br /> 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasan- <br /> ton can initiated zoning ameDdments; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is concerned about the location of <br /> retail stores commonly referred to as convenience markets <br /> which are open on a 24 hour basis; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council believes that it may be appropriate to <br /> require said convenience markets and other markets to be <br /> conditional uses in the C-C <br /> C-N (Neighborhood Comercial) <br /> priate districts~ and <br /> <br />~qHEREAS, the City Council wishes the Planning Commission to study <br /> this matter in order to obtain a report from the Planning <br /> Co~ission with respect to this issue. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Initiates pursuant to Section 2-12.04, Article 29~ <br /> Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of <br /> Pleasanton a zoning ordinance amendment study to deter- <br /> mine if it is appropriate to require as conditional uses <br /> in the C-C (Central Comaercial) District, C-N (Neighbor- <br /> hood ConLmercial) District and any other appropriate <br /> district the location of food markets especially those <br /> tkat operate on a 24 hour basis and commonly known as <br /> convenience markets. <br /> <br />Section 2. The Planning Co~n~ission is requested to hold any <br /> <br /> public hearings which are necessary in order to make <br /> <br />(Central Commercial) District. <br />District and other appro- <br /> <br /> <br />
