WHEREAS , <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />difficult to conveniently participate in the City's <br />cultural activities, organized youth sports events, <br />churches, shopping and other usual city services; and <br />this barrier significantly increases the response time <br />for emergency services such as police, fire, rescue <br />and ambulance service; and <br />this barrier significantly increases the cost of busing <br />students to and from schools; and <br /> <br />Interstate Route 680 construction through the City of <br />Pleasanton was financed principally with Federal Aid <br />Interstate funds; and <br />the City Council of the City of Pleasan ton is of the <br />opinion that the construction of a first phase vehicular <br />overcrossing of Interstate Route 680 at West Las Positas <br />Boulevard, including facilities for pedestrians and <br />bicyclists, is of paramount importance to the health, <br />safety and welfare of the citizens of the City; and <br />to support this opinion the City Council has budgeted <br />some $350,000 in the City's 1976-77 budget toward this <br /> <br /> project. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> <br />Section 1. The California Department of Transportation is hereby <br /> requested to seek Federal Aid Interstate funding for <br /> a first-stage vehicular overcrossing of Interstate Route <br /> 680 at West Las Positas Boulevard including facilities <br /> <br />for pedestrians and bicyclists. <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br /> <br />
