CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-60 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE BYLAWS OF COVA AND GUIDELINES <br /> FOR ELIMINATING SEX-BIAS LANGUAGE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Congress of Valley Agencies (COVA) was created by <br /> a Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement executed by the <br /> various public entities in the nivermore-Amador Valley; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />in order to regulate the functioning of COVA, bylaws <br />have been prepared for consideration by the member <br />agencies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said bylaws were presented to the City Council at its <br /> meeting of February 28, 1977; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at said meeting the City Council also received Guidelines <br /> for eliminating sex-bias language. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approves the Bylaws for the Congress of Valley <br /> Agencies as more particularly set forth in Exhibit "A" <br /> attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. <br /> <br />Section 2. Approves the Guidelines for sex-bias language as <br /> more particularly set forth in Exhibit "B" attached <br /> hereto and incorporated herein by reference. <br /> <br />Section 3.
