CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAmeDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-75 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AS CITY POLICY THE INTENTION <br />TO ENCOURAGE AGENCIES TO LOCATE PUBLIC BUILDINGS <br />IN THE CITY WITHIN OR ADJACENT TO PLEASANTON CIVIC <br />CENTER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Policy Statement No. 2 under Goal #3 (Economic Development) <br />of the General Plan states in part". to encourage the <br />development of downtown Pleasanton as the financial and <br />governmental center of the planning area . ". and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at a joint meeting with the Planning Commission on <br />November 29, 1976, Council took action to further <br />redefine this policy; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />pursuant to a memorandum dated March 8, 1977, from the <br />Director of Planning, it is believed that a written <br />statement should be issued establishing the above policy; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff suggests the following wording for such a statement: <br /> <br />"Wherever practical, it is the policy of the City <br />of Pleasanton to encourage those agencies wishing <br />to construct public buildings in the City to locate <br />such structures within or adjacent to the Pleasanton <br />Civic Center." <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1.
