CITY OF pLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-134 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CITY OF pLEASANTON'S <br /> SAFER ROADS DEMONSTRATION pROGRAM, A PART OF THE <br /> HIGHWAY SAFETY ACT OF 1973, ADOPTED BY RESOLUTION <br /> NO. 75-124 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council, on June 9, 1975, adopted Resolution <br /> No. 75-124 approving four projects for the Safer Roads <br /> Demonstration program, a part of the Highway Safety <br /> Act of 1973; and <br />WHEREAS, the program provides funds for use on City streets not <br /> on a Federal Aid route for a limited number of categor- <br /> ies of safety-related improvements; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council, at their meeting of May 9, 1977, re~ <br /> ceived a report from the Director of Engineering Services <br /> recommending certain modifications to pleasanton's Safer <br /> Roads Demonstration program, approved by Resolution <br /> No. 75-124~ and <br /> WHEREAS, projects under this program are funded 90 percent by Fed- <br /> eral Funds and 10 percent by local funds and local funds <br /> have been provided in the proposed Capital improvement <br /> program for part of the projects. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF pLEASANTON DOES RE- <br /> SOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. City of pleasanton's Safer Roads Demonstration program <br /> ~ is amended as follows: <br /> <br /> A. Delete the following project: <br /> 1. Replace longitudinal ditch with pipe along north <br /> side of Bernal Avenue. <br /> B. Add the following projects: <br /> 1. Widen Spring Street at Southern pacific railroad <br /> tracks. <br /> 2. Upgrade street name signs in Jensen Tract area. <br /> 3. installation of automatic gates at Rose Avenue <br /> crossing of Western pacific railroad tracks. <br /> Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br /> 'its passage and adoption. <br /> THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED MAY 9, 1977 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> <br />
