CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-178 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION DENYING THE APPLICATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />TO REZONE APPROXIMATELY 53 ACRES OF LAND LOCATED SOUTH OF <br />MINNIE STREET BETWEEN SUNOL BOULEVARD AND THE EASTERN CITY <br />LIMIT LINE FROM THE RM-2500, R-1-6500 AND A DISTRICT TO <br />PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />as a result of studies undertaken by the Planning Depart- <br />ment, in order to bring the City's various zoning districts <br />into conformance with the general plan, the City Staff on <br />October 13, 1976 recommended to the Planning Commission <br />that approximately 53 acre parcel of land located south of <br />Minnie Street between Sunol Boulevard and the eastern City <br />limit line be rezoned to Planned Unit Development; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Planning Commission, at its meeting of January 12, 1977, <br />adopted Resolution No. 1480 recommending to the City Council <br />that portions of the property zoned RM-2500 and R-1-6500 be <br />rezoned to Planned Unit Development while retaining the east- <br />erly portion of the property in an Agricultural Zoning Dis- <br />trict; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on February 14, 1977, the Planning Commission's recommenda- <br />tions came before the City Council but at the request of the <br />developer the public hearing was continued open on the fol- <br />lowing dates: February 28, 1977, March 28, 1977, April 25, <br />1977 and May 23, 1977; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council again considered this item at its meeting <br />of June 27, 1977 after opening the public hearing and allow- <br />ing comment by the public; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council was advised that any action on a develop- <br />ment plan would have to proceed before the Planning Commis- <br />sion after the City Council had determined the appropriate <br />zoning; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council, in its discussions after closing the pub- <br />lic hearing, indicated that the zoning and development of <br />this property should be considered concurrently by the fil- <br />ing of a PUD Zoning and Development Plan with the Planning <br />Division for consideration by the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1. Denies an application originally instituted by the City <br />to rezone approximately 53 acres of real property located <br />south of Minnie Street between Sunol Blvd. and the eastern <br />City limit line from RM-2500, R-1-6500 and A-Agricultural <br />to Planned Unit Development District Zoning. <br /> <br />Page 1. <br />Res.
