CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-174 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION REVIEWING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />THE CONSTRUCTION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS ON MAIN STREET AT <br />RAY-SAINT JOHN AND NEAL-ROSE STREETS TO STEINY & CO. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council, at their meeting of May 9, 1977, reviewed <br />and approved plans and specifications prepared by the City's <br />Director of Engineering Services for the construction of <br />traffic signals on Main Street at Ray-Saint John and at Neal- <br />Rose Streets; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />pursuant to Government Code No. 37900, et seq., the City En- <br />gineering Services Department advertised for bids regarding <br />this project and the following bids were received: <br /> <br />Steiny & Co. <br />Continental Electric Co. <br />CVE <br />Rosendin Electric Co. <br /> <br />$58,242.00 <br />$58,260.60 <br />$59,740.00 <br />$66,666.00; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Continental Electric Co. is hereby rejected on <br /> the basis of certain irregularities in said bid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Steiny & Co. has been determined to be the lowest <br /> responsible bid. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The bid of Steiny & Co. in the amount of $58,242.00 for <br /> the construction of the traffic signals on Main Street at <br /> Ray-Saint John and Neal-Rose Streets is hereby accepted by <br /> City Council as the lowest responsible bid. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City is authorized to enter into a contract with <br /> Steiny & Co. for the improvements specified above. <br /> <br />Section 3.
