CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-169 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF CLAYTON BROWN <br />AS CITY MANAGER AND CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the position of City Manager became vacant upon the resigna- <br />tion by former City Manager Mr. William Edgar effective as <br />of March 1, 1977; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council appointed the Assistant City Manager/Direc- <br />tor of Public Works Mr. Alan Campbell as the Acting City <br />Manager and Acting City Clerk until a new City Manager <br />could be retained; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council undertook a search for a new City Manager; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Clayton Brown was considered by the City Council along <br /> with other candidates for the position of City Manager; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Mr. Clayton Brown was tendered the position of the City <br />Manager of the City of Pleasanton which office was accepted <br />by Mr. Brown; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton is also the City <br /> Manager of the City of Pleasanton; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Confirms the appointment of Mr. Clayton Brown as the <br /> City Manager of the City of Pleasanton at a salary of <br /> $33,500.00 for the fiscal year of 1977-78, together with <br /> fringe benefits applicable to top-management employees <br /> to be established for fiscal year 1977-78, said appoint- <br /> ment to be effective commencing on July 11, 1977. <br /> <br />Section 2. Mr. Clayton Brown is appointed as the City Clerk of <br /> the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Section 3.
