CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-162 <br /> <br />DECLARING RESULTS OF ELECTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Notice of Election was duly given on: March 20, 1977. <br /> <br />WHEREAS: <br /> <br />The Election was held on May 31, 1977, by mail as provided for in the <br />Revenue and Taxation Code and the Election Code of the State of <br />California. <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The sole measure to be voted upon referred to as Measure A was a <br /> follows: <br /> <br />"Shall the annual maximum tax rate which the City of <br />Pleasanton is empowered to levy upon all property <br />within the City subject to taxation by the City be <br />increased by an amount not to exceed .29¢ per $100. <br />assessed valuation to be used exclusively for addi- <br />tional personnel in the police and fire departments?" <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The total number of votes cast in the election was 5,694. <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The total number of votes cast for the Measure was 2,211. <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The total number of votes cast against the Measure was 3,466. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The result of the Election is that Measure A was defeated. <br /> <br />Section 2.
