CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-233 <br /> <br />REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 77-49 (ESTABLISHING MINIMUM <br />QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF FIRE CHIEF) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at the time recruitment began for the position of Fire <br />Chief, the Council adopted Resolution No. 77-49, which <br />established minimum qualifications for the position; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />staff feels that the minimum qualifications are too <br />restrictive and have significantly limited the interest <br />in the position; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council, at its meeting of August 23, 1977, <br />received and reviewed a report dated August 17, 1977, <br />regarding the repeal of Resolution No. 77-49 (Establish- <br />ing Minimum Qualifications for the position of Fire Chief); <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />to help assure the selection of this important position <br />from a wide field of canadates, staff recommends the <br />repeal of Resolution No. 77-49. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1.
