MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> between <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> and <br />PLEASANTON FIREFIGHTERS, I.A.F.F. LOCAL 1974 <br /> <br />This Memorandum of Understanding is entered into pursuant to the <br />provisions of Section. 3500 et seq of the Government Code of the <br />State of California. <br /> <br />The Employee Relations Officer (City Manager) is the representative <br />of the City of Pleasanton in employer-employee relations matters and <br />has been designated the representative for the purposes of meeting <br />and conferring. <br /> <br />Pleasanton Firefighters I.A.F.F. Local 1974 is the formally recog- <br />nized employee organization for the Firefighter Employees Unit <br />comprised of the classifications of firefighter, Fire Lieutenant, <br />and Fire Captain. <br /> <br />The parties have met and conferred in good faith regarding wages, <br />hours and other terms and conditions of employment for the employees <br />in said representation unit, and have freely exchanged information, <br />opinions and proposals and have endeavored to reach agreement on all <br />matters relating to the employment conditions and employer-employee <br />relations of such employees. <br /> <br />This Memorandum of Understanding shall be presented to the Pleasanton <br />City Council as the joint recommendation of the undersigned parties <br />for salary and employee benefit adjustments for the period commencing <br />July 1, 1977 and ending March 31, 1979. <br /> <br />The existing wages, hours and conditions of employment shall be <br />amended only as follows: <br /> <br />The salary range of each classification shall be increased <br />effective July 1, 1977 to provide monthly salary ranges as <br />follows: <br /> <br />CLASSIFICATION <br /> <br />STEP A STEP B STEP C STEP D STEP E <br /> <br />Firefighter <br /> <br />$1263 $1325 $1392 $1462 $1537 <br /> <br />Fire Lieutenant <br /> <br />1427 1498 1571 1651 1734 <br /> <br />Fire Captain <br /> <br />1598 1682 1770 1863 1961 <br /> <br />The salary range of each classification shall be increased <br />effective July 1, 1978 to provide monthly salary ranges as <br />follows: <br /> <br />CLASSIFICATION <br /> <br />STEP A STEP B STEP C STEP D STEP E <br /> <br />Firefighter <br /> <br />$1310 $1374 $1444 $1516 $1594 <br /> <br />Fire Lieutenant <br /> <br />1480 1554 1630 1713 1799 <br /> <br />Fire Captain <br /> <br />1654 1741 1833 1929 2031 <br /> <br />Effective July 1, 1977, the City shall contribute an amount <br />necessary to provide hospital and medical care benefits under <br />the present Blue Cross Plan or Kaiser B Plan for the individual <br />employee and a portion of the amount necessary to provide <br />coverage for eligible dependents; provided, however, that in <br />no event shall the City be obligated to contribute an amount <br />in excess of sixty-five Dollars ($65.00) per month per employee <br />tO provide the aforesaid coverage.
