MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING between CITY OF PLEASANTON and PLEASANTON FIREFIGHTERS, I.A.F.F. LOCAL 1974 This Memorandum of Understanding is entered into pursuant to the provisions of Section. 3500 et seq of the Government Code of the State of California. The Employee Relations Officer (City Manager) is the representative of the City of Pleasanton in employer-employee relations matters and has been designated the representative for the purposes of meeting and conferring. Pleasanton Firefighters I.A.F.F. Local 1974 is the formally recog- nized employee organization for the Firefighter Employees Unit comprised of the classifications of firefighter, Fire Lieutenant, and Fire Captain. The parties have met and conferred in good faith regarding wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment for the employees in said representation unit, and have freely exchanged information, opinions and proposals and have endeavored to reach agreement on all matters relating to the employment conditions and employer-employee relations of such employees. This Memorandum of Understanding shall be presented to the Pleasanton City Council as the joint recommendation of the undersigned parties for salary and employee benefit adjustments for the period commencing July 1, 1977 and ending March 31, 1979. The existing wages, hours and conditions of employment shall be amended only as follows: The salary range of each classification shall be increased effective July 1, 1977 to provide monthly salary ranges as follows: CLASSIFICATION STEP A STEP B STEP C STEP D STEP E Firefighter $1263 $1325 $1392 $1462 $1537 Fire Lieutenant 1427 1498 1571 1651 1734 Fire Captain 1598 1682 1770 1863 1961 The salary range of each classification shall be increased effective July 1, 1978 to provide monthly salary ranges as follows: CLASSIFICATION STEP A STEP B STEP C STEP D STEP E Firefighter $1310 $1374 $1444 $1516 $1594 Fire Lieutenant 1480 1554 1630 1713 1799 Fire Captain 1654 1741 1833 1929 2031 Effective July 1, 1977, the City shall contribute an amount necessary to provide hospital and medical care benefits under the present Blue Cross Plan or Kaiser B Plan for the individual employee and a portion of the amount necessary to provide coverage for eligible dependents; provided, however, that in no event shall the City be obligated to contribute an amount in excess of sixty-five Dollars ($65.00) per month per employee tO provide the aforesaid coverage.
