CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-294 <br /> <br />CITY ELIGIBILITY TO PARTICIPATE IN FEDERAL SURPLUS <br />PROPERTY PROGRAM AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 74-85 <br />AND EXECUTION OF ASSURANCE STATEMENT REGARDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH TITLE VI OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />City staff has been informed by Mr. Howard Garrigan, <br />Assistant Director of Alameda County Office of Emergency <br />Services, that to maintain the City's eligibility to <br />acquire federal surplus property from the California State <br />Agency for Surplus Property it is necessary that the City <br />Council rescind Resolution No. 74-85, which currently <br />governs Pleasanton's participation in the surplus property <br />program, and in its place adopted the resolution attached <br />hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />it is necessary that the City execute the Assurance State- <br />ment pertaining to the City's compliance with Title VI of <br />the Civil Rights Act of 1964, attached hereto and incorpor- <br />ated herein by reference; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council at its meeting of November 8, 1977, <br />received a report dated November 1, 1977, from the <br />Assistant to the City Manager regarding the above- <br />mentioned matter. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approves City eligibility to participate in Federal <br /> Surplus Property Program. <br /> <br />Section 2. Rescind Resolution No. 74-85. <br /> <br />Section 3. Execution of Assurance Statement regarding compliance <br /> with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. <br /> <br />~ection 4. This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON NOVEMBER 8, 1977, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, <br /> Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />LeClaire, Mercer, and <br /> <br />III <br /> <br /> <br />
