CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 77-294 CITY ELIGIBILITY TO PARTICIPATE IN FEDERAL SURPLUS PROPERTY PROGRAM AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 74-85 AND EXECUTION OF ASSURANCE STATEMENT REGARDING COMPLIANCE WITH TITLE VI OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964 WHEREAS, City staff has been informed by Mr. Howard Garrigan, Assistant Director of Alameda County Office of Emergency Services, that to maintain the City's eligibility to acquire federal surplus property from the California State Agency for Surplus Property it is necessary that the City Council rescind Resolution No. 74-85, which currently governs Pleasanton's participation in the surplus property program, and in its place adopted the resolution attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City execute the Assurance State- ment pertaining to the City's compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, attached hereto and incorpor- ated herein by reference; and WHEREAS, the City Council at its meeting of November 8, 1977, received a report dated November 1, 1977, from the Assistant to the City Manager regarding the above- mentioned matter. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approves City eligibility to participate in Federal Surplus Property Program. Section 2. Rescind Resolution No. 74-85. Section 3. Execution of Assurance Statement regarding compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. ~ection 4. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
