Develops and coordinates City's street tree program and <br />administers City's heritage tree ordinance. <br /> <br />Reviews private development landscape plans to insure compliance <br />with City standards and requirements. <br /> <br />Construction Inspector <br /> <br />1. Assumes on-site responsibility for coordination of specialized <br /> public and private improvement projects° <br /> <br />2. Reviews and issues encroachment permits, determines fees and <br /> bond requirements, coordinates projects with appropriate <br /> individuals/agencies. <br /> <br />3. Acts as City's field representative on City building construction <br /> projects (e.g. Civic Center) to oversee and coordinate con- <br /> struction; administers construction contracts to insure con- <br /> tractor's compliance. <br /> <br />In addition to the reclassification of these two positions, we are <br />also recommending the salary ranges of these positions be adjusted <br />to reflect the increased duties and responsibilities being performed. <br />The recommended salary adjustments are as follows: <br /> <br /> Present Recommended <br />Present Recommended Salary Salary <br />Classification Classification Range Range <br /> <br />Senior Engineering <br />Technician <br /> <br />Park & Landscape <br />Designer <br /> <br />$1378-$1676 $1519-$1847 <br /> <br />Public Works <br />Inspector <br /> <br />Construction <br />Inspector <br /> <br />$1378-$1676 $1447-$1760 <br /> <br />The cost to the City as a result of these salary adjustments will <br />total $1,320 during this fiscal year. Sufficient funds are available <br />to effect these salary adjustments. <br /> <br />RECOFiMENDATIONS <br /> <br />Based upon the results of this classification study, we recommend the <br />following: <br /> <br />1. The proposed revised class titles in Field Services set forth <br /> on pages 4 and 5 of this report be approved. <br /> <br /> 2. The following proposed reclassifications and salary range adjust- <br /> ments in the Division of Engineering Services be approved: <br /> <br />-6- <br /> <br /> <br />
