CITY OF PLEASANTON COUNTY OF ALAMEDA STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 77-285 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE PLEASANTON SWIM CLUB RELATING TO WINTER USE OF THE PLEASANTON AQUATIC CENTER IN AMADOR PARK. WHEREAS, on June 17, 1977 and August 30, 1977, the Director of Recreation and Human Resources recommended to the City Council and the Park and Recreation Commission that the City's three pools at the Aquatic Center in Amador Park be inactivated during the winter months; and WHEREAS, it was the understanding of the Director of Recreation and Human Resources, subsequent to meetings with the Pleasanton Swim Club that the Pleasanton Swim Club was desirous of obtaining swim facilities from the Valley Community Services District; and WHEREAS~ on September 30, 1977, the Director of Recreation and Human Resources met with Mr. Jim Davis, President of the Pleasanton Swim Club and two members of the Board of Directors and were informed of the. desire of the club to remain in Pleasanton; and WHEREAS, on October 19, 1977, the Director of Recreation and Human Resources prepared a report to the City Council outlining the past relationship with the Pleasanton Swim Club and recommendation for closure of the Aquatic Center together with other attachments relating to usage of and costs of operating the Aquatic Center during the winter time; and WHEREAS, the City Council, at its meeting of October 25, 1977, considered the report from the Director of Recreation and Human Resources; and WHEREAS, in addition, the council received an oral presentation from Mr. Jim Davis of Pleasanton Swim Club indicating that the Swim Club required financial assistance from the City to be able to operate over the up coming winter months and it was indicated that the Swim Club would only need the City's assistance this one time and would become self-sufficient in the future. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Authorized the mayor to execute an agreement with Pleasanton Swim Club whereby Pleasanton Swim Club would reimburse the City $200 per week for use of the swimming pools at the Aquatic Center and Amador Park. Said $200 to be payable in good services or cash, the value of which to be determined by the City staff; the term of the agreement shall be for approximately 20 weeks, from October 31, 1977 to March 17, 1978; and subject to such additional contractual requirements as are
