CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-319 <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF SALE OF YMCA BUILDING AT 287 ROSE AVENUE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />last year the City acquired the property at 287 Rose Avenue <br />for the extension of Peters Avenue from Division Street to <br />Rose Avenue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the YMCA has been occupying the building at 287 Rose Avenue <br />for several years but is scheduled to move out of the build- <br />ing in early December so that the site clearing and street <br />project can proceed; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Engineering has received several inquiries concerning the <br />acquisition of the building for moving and restoration <br />and would like to put the building on the market as the <br />first choice in clearing the site; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council, at its meeting of November 29, 1977, <br />received and reviewed a report dated November 15, 1977, <br />from the Director of Engineering Services regarding the <br />sale of the YMCA Building at Rose Avenue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />staff recommends that the City offer this building for <br />sale to the highest bidder with preference given to <br />bidders agreeing to preserve the building, and that the <br />successful bidder be allowed to purchase a sewer connection <br />if the building is relocated within the City served by the <br />Sunol sewage treatment plant. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Instructs staff to offer the YMCA Building at 287 Rose <br /> Avenue for sale to the highest bidder with preference <br /> given to bidders agreeing to preserve the building. <br /> <br />Section 2. Reserves the right to refuse any or all bids. <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON NOVEMBER 29, 1977, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, <br />Mayor Philcox <br />None <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />LeClaire, Mercer, and <br /> <br />III <br /> <br /> <br />
