CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-305 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A SENIOR CITIZEN REFUSE COLLECTION <br />RATE AND NON-RESIDENT TRANSFER STATION DUMPING RATE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council at its meeting of June 13, 1977, adopted <br />Resolution No. 77-163 (A Resolution Approving a Revision <br />to the Garbage Rates Charged by Pleasanton Garbage Service <br />and Providing a Method of Analyzing Future Increases)grant- <br />ing a disposal rate increase to Pleasanton Garbage Service; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Subsection 2r of Section 1 (A discount rate for senior citi- <br />zens and a rate differential between resident and non-resident <br />users of the transfer station shall be investigated by fran- <br />chisee and the City Manager and submitted to the City Council <br />for consideration within 60 days of the adoption of this reso- <br />lution) requires submittal to the City Council for considera- <br />tion of a Senior Citizen refuse collection rate and a Non- <br />Resident transfer station dumping rate; and <br /> <br />the City Council, at its meeting of November 8, 1977, received <br />a report from the Assistant to City Manager, Mr. Miller, pro- <br />posing a discount garbage rate for senior citizens and a higher <br />rate for non-residents using the transfer station; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council considered Mr. Miller's report of November 1, <br />1977, together with a letter of July 29, 1977, from the <br />attorney for Pleasanton Garbage Services regarding said rates; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approves the request of Pleasanton Garbage Service to par- <br /> ticipate in the Senior Citizen Gold Card Program by offering <br /> to senior citizens of 62 years of age and Qver a discount <br /> rate of $3.50 per month for one can service for refuse col- <br /> lection. <br /> <br />Section 2. Approves the request by Pleasanton Garbage Service to <br /> establish a non-resident trahsfer station dumping rate of <br /> $2.25 per cubic yard and $!1.00 per ton~ the latter rate <br /> being applied to materialsl prQcessed on a weight basis. <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br /> its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON NOVEMBER 8, 1977 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />ATTEST: C.
