CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78-4 <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AN AGREEMENT TERMINATING CONGRESS OF VALLEY <br />AGENCIES (COVA) JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT AND DISPERSAL OF <br />FUNDS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on November 24, 1975, the Congress of Valley Agencies was <br />established by the execution by the participating parties <br />of a Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />recently, the City of Pleasanton, and then certain other <br />Valley Agencies, terminated their participation in the <br />Congress of Valley Agencies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />in order to comply with the provisions of the Government <br />Code and the provisions of the Joint Exercise of Powers <br />Agreement for the termination of Congress of Valley Agencies, <br />it is necessary for Council to authorize execution of an <br />agreement terminating Congress of Valley Agencies and the <br />dispersal of remaining funds; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approves execution by the Mayor of an agreement terminat- <br /> ing the Congress of Valley Agencies. <br /> <br />Section 2. Approves the final financial statement dated December <br /> 1977, prepared by Mr. James Walker, and the dispersal of <br /> remaining funds on a pro rata basis to the participating <br /> agencies. <br /> <br />Section 3.
