CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78-29 <br /> <br />RE: DESIGNATION OF CENTRAL BALLOT COUNTING PLACE, <br /> POLLING PLACES, AND APPOINTMENT OF ELECTION OFFICERS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, ELECTIONS CODE §U050 provides that the City Council may by <br /> resolution provide that all ballots shall be counted at a <br /> central ballot counting place for the March 7, 1978 election; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Elections Code ~22805 and ~22834 require that City Council <br /> appoint precinct election officers, designate polling <br /> places, and publish a notice indicating names of said <br /> election officers and the polling places designated for <br /> each election precinct; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton is hereby author- <br /> ized and directed to designate the Pleasanton Civic Center <br /> 200 Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton as the central ballot counting <br /> place for the March 7, 1978 election. <br /> <br />Section 2. Attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein <br /> by reference is a list of the precincts, precinct election <br /> officers and designated polling places for the upcoming <br /> March 7, 1978 election. The persons and places set forth <br /> in this list are hereby appointed and designated by the <br /> City Council as the precinct officers and polling places <br /> for the general municipal election to be held in the City <br /> of Pleasanton on Tuesday, March 7, 1978. Said polling <br /> places will be open between the hours of 7 o'clock a.m. and <br /> 8 o'clock P.M. of said day. <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon its <br /> passage and adoption and shall be published once in a news- <br /> paper of general circulation in the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ON FEBRUARY 2, 1978, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Her~~~and~~lcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember LeC~aire ~ <br />APPRO ED AS TO ~,:~ <br /> <br /> <br />
