CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 74-212 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION SELECTING THE BEST APPARENT PROJECT FROM <br />ALTERNATE 2-b (INTERCEPTOR SEWER LINE) AND ALTERNATIVE 5-b <br />(CONSTRUCTION OF NEW SEWER PLANT) AND REQUESTING FUNDING <br />OF THE MOST APPARENT PROJECT SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State Water Resources Control Board has required the <br /> City of Pleasanton to consider various alternative means <br /> of sewage disposal for the City of Pleasanton in order <br /> to accomplish expansion of the Valley CommUnity Services <br /> District Plant; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has employed Kennedy Engineers to <br /> prepare the necessary documents necessary for the selec- <br /> tion of the best apparent project for the treatment and <br /> disposal of sewage from the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Kennedy Engineers has prepared three volumes of materials <br /> indicating the viable alternatives available to the City <br /> and reducing these to the best apparent project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the two alternatives deemed to be the best alternatives <br /> for the City of Pleasanton were alternative 2-b (Con- <br /> struction of an Interceptor Sewer Line to take sewage <br /> from the existing sewage treatment plant to the Valley <br /> Community Services District Plant) and alternative 5-b <br /> (the construction of a new waste water treatment plant <br /> to replace the existing Sunol Plant)~ and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to a settlement agreement entered into on Nov- <br /> ember 8, 1972, the City of Pleasanton is obligated to <br /> cooperate with and assist the Valley Community Services <br /> District in all reasonable manner to obtain necessary <br /> approvals to increase the District sewage treatment <br /> <br />plant capacity to 8 million gallons per day; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to abide by the aforementioned agreement, it <br /> <br /> <br />
