CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78-24 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A CITY COUNCIL POLICY THAT THE <br />TERMS OF ALL BOARD AND COMMISSION MEMBERS EXPIRE ON ~IAY 5 <br />EACH YEAR, THAT STAFF IMPLEMENT THIS POLICY, AND THAT THE <br />PRESENT TERMS OF CERTAIN COMMISSION MEMBERS EXPIRING AT <br />THIS TIME BE EXTENDED TO EXPIRE ON MAY 5, 1978 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of January 24, 1978, the City Council received <br />and considered a report from the City Manager, dated January 3, <br />1978, relating to the expiration of terms of members of boards <br />and commissions; and <br /> <br />after discussion, Council determined that it would be <br />advantageous for the Council to adopt a policy that the <br />terms of all board and commission members would expire on <br />May 5 each year; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Establishes a City Council policy that the terms of all <br /> board and commission members expire on March 5 each year; <br /> that staff prepare the necessary amendments to the Ordinance <br /> Code to implement this policy; and that the expiring terms <br /> of John F. Hansen, Housing Authority Commission member whose <br /> term expires January 25, 1978, and Charles H. Gielow, Jr., <br /> and Kathleen O'Brien, Parks and Recreation Commission members <br /> whose terms expire February 15, 1978, be extended to expire <br /> on May 5, 1978. <br /> <br />Section 2.
