CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78-76 <br /> <br />RESOLVING TEAT THE CITY HOLD AN ELECTION ON THE NOVEMBER, <br />1978, BALLOT FOR THE SELECTION OF A FIFTH MEMBER ON THE <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />there is a vacancy on the City Council created by the <br />resignation of Councilmember William J. Herlihy on March 17, <br />1978; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />interested applicants for the position were interviewed <br />personally by City Council and meetings were held to <br />discuss possible appointment of one of the applicants; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Council, at their meeting of April 14, 1978, by Resolution <br />No. 78-75, appointed Robert E. Butler to serve as Council- <br />member on the Pleasanton City Council until the November, <br />1978, ballot; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City will hold a special election for one Council <br /> seat to be consolidated with the statewide election on <br /> November 7, 1978. <br /> <br />Section 2.
