CITY OF PLEASANTON COUNTY OF ALAMEDA STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 78-65 RE: ESTABLISHING UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 78-1 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton as follows: WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 78-34 a public h~aring was called for on March 28, 1978, at the hour of 8:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers at 30 West Angela Street, Pleasanton, California, to ascertain whether the public necessity, health, safety, or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures, and the underground installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric communication, or similar or associated service, within that certain areas of the City described as St. Mary's Street and St. John Street from Main Street to and including Peters Avenue; and WHEREAS, notice of such hearing has been given to all affected property owners as shown on the last equalized assessment roll and utilities concerned in the manner and for the time required by law; and WHEREAS, such hearing has been duly and regularly held, and all persons interested have been given an opportunity to be heard. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON hereby finds and determines that the public necessity, health, safety and welfare require the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated structures, and the under- ground installation of wires and facilties for supplying- electric, communication, or similar or associated service on both sides of St. Mary's Street'and St. John Street from Main Street to Peters Avenue, such described area is hereby established as Underground Utility District No. 78-1. Attached hereto, marked "Exhibit A," and hereby incorporated as part of this resolution, is a map delineating the bound- aries of said District. RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the City Council of the City of Pleasanton hereby makes the following further findings with regard to Underground Utility District No. 78-1: The undergrounding to be accomplished pursuant to this resolution will avoid or eliminate an unusually heavy concentration of overhead distribution facilities. The streets, roads and rights-of-way in the District are extensively used by general public and carry a heavy volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
