CITY COUNCILOF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78-174 <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS UNTIL ADOPTION OF <br />1978-79 BUDGET <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Legislature is working on the method by which the <br />revenues to be raised by the one percent property tax <br />approved by passage of Proposition 13 are to be <br />allocated; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />legislation which will determine what percentage of the <br />property tax Pleasanton will receive next year (1978-79) <br />will not be passed soon enough to allow the staff to <br />prepare a final operating budget for Council to review <br />and adopt prior to July 1, 1978; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff plans to have a final budget prepared and ready <br /> to present to the Council on July 11, 1978; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />to allow the City to continue to operate into the new <br />fiscal year, Council is advised to authorize the staff <br />to make expenditures until the operating budget is adopted. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorizes the City Manager to <br /> ditures as necessary after July 1, <br /> of the Final Operating Budget for <br /> <br />continue to make expen- <br /> 1978, prior to adoption <br />1978-79. <br /> <br />Section 2~ Expenditures to be based on proposed budget presented <br /> to the City Council on April 20, 1978. <br /> <br />Section 3.
