CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78{07 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING SETTLEMENT AUTHORITY FOR <br />SETTLING SMALL TORT CLAIMS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has established a self-insured <br /> retention program for accident and damage liability; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City has entered into an agreement with R. L. Kautz <br />and Company for administration of the self-insured program; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, speedy settlement of small claims requires administrative <br /> handling. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1. To authorize R. L. Kautz and Company to settle and pay <br />claims of $1,000 or less if after investigation it has been <br />determined that the City is liable for the damage or injury. <br /> <br />Section 2. To authorize the City Attorney to settle claims of $5,000 <br /> or less and authorize R. L. Kautz to pay such claims, if <br /> after investigation it has been determined that the City <br /> has liability for the damage or injury. <br /> <br />Section 3.
