CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78-235 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REESTABLISHING SCHOOL CROSSING <br />GUARDS AT BLACK AVENUE AND HARVEST ROAD, ADAMS WAY AT <br />VINEYARD AVENUE, ADAMS WAY AT KOTTINGER DRIVE, AND <br />MAIN STREET AT ABBIE STREET. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council, at their meeting of September 12, 1978, <br />received requests from citizens and representatives of <br />parents groups relating to reinstating the crossing guards at <br />certain school crossings in the City which had been eliminated <br />due to budget cuts necessitated by Proposition 13; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council, after considering the testimony given by <br />various individuals determined that it would be in the <br />public interest to reinstate the crossing guards at the <br />corners of Black Avenue and Harvest Road, Adams Way at Vineyard <br />Avenue, Adams Way at Kottinger Drive, and Main Street at <br />Abbie Street. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorizes reinstating of crossing guards at Black Avenue <br /> and Harvest Road, Adams Way at Vineyard Avenue, Adams Way at <br /> Kottinger Drive, and Main Street at Abbie Street. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorizes an appropriation from City funds to pay for <br /> the cost of said crossing guards at the above locations and <br /> amends the Budget by approximately $11,000. <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br /> its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON SEPTEMBER 12, 1978, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brandes, Butler, Wood, Kephart and <br /> Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Cla~y~~ ~1 R.
