CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78-224 <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING PURCHASEOF PROPERTY AT 391 ST. MARY STREET <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has planned the construction of <br /> Peters Avenue for many years; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Peters Avenue is shown on the City's General Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the adopted Captial Improvement Program provides for the <br />extension of Peters Avenue from St. Mary Street to St. John <br />Street; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS funds have been budgeted for the purchase of property of <br /> 391 St. Mary Street; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the purchase of this property is necessary in order to <br /> proceed with the construction of Peters Avenue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> <br />the City has contracted with the State of California to <br />appraise the property and act as right-of-way agent for <br />the City in the acquisition of this property; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the right-of-way agent and City staff recommend the purchase <br /> of this property for the agreed upon price of $84,500. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council authorizes the purchase of this property <br /> for the sum of $82,500 and directs the City staff and right- <br /> of-way agent to take the necessary steps to complete this <br /> transaction. <br /> <br />Section 2.
