CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78-223 <br /> <br />APPROVING CHANGE ORDER TO CONTRACT FOR CENTRAL BUSINESS <br />DISTRICT STORM DRAIN OUTFALL <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council has awarded a contract to install a storm <br />drain along the Western Pacific Railroad from Bernal Avenue <br />to St. Mary Street and along Division Street from the Western <br />Pacific Railroad to Pleasanton Avenue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />the City Council advertised and received bids for the con- <br />struction of Peters Avenue which included a storm drain line <br />in Peters Avenue from Division Street to St. Mary Street; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />only one bid, exceeding the Engineer's Estimate, was received <br />for the Peters Avenue project and the City Council subsequent- <br />ly rejected said bid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, both projects were approved for funding using Housing and <br /> Community Development Funds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />it has been determined to be economical and of significant <br />public benefit to proceed with the Peters Avenue storm drain <br />line at once. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council does hereby authorize the issuance of a <br /> change order to the Central Business District Storm Drain <br /> Outfall Project to include the storm drain line in Peters <br /> Avenue from DiviSion Street to St. Mary Street at an <br /> approximate cost of $24,179.00 and using the unit price <br /> bid on the Central Business Storm Drain Outfall Project. <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED AUGUST 29, 1979, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler and Mayor Mercer <br /> <br />NOES: None <br /> and Wood <br />ABSENT: Councilmembers - Kephart <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />ByDoris George, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM <br />~evine, City Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />
