CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAmeDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 78-255 A RESOLUTION AMENDING CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET TO ADD AUTOMATIC GATES ON WESTERN PACIFIC RAILROAD AT ROSE AND ANGELA STREETS, APPLY SAFER OFF SYSTEMS FUNDING FOR THE RAILROAD OFF SYSTEM PROJECT, AND ALLOCATE AN ADDITIONAL $10,000 FROM THE GENERAL FUND AS 10% MATCHING FUNDS FOR THE CROSSING PROTECTION PROJECTS WHEREAS, at the City Council meeting of October 3, 1978, the Director of Public Works and Utilities presented his report dated September 18, 1978, regarding Street Project No. 1, designated as "Railroad Off Systems" which included street and drainage improvements - Bernal Avenue at Western Pacific Railroad, Angela Street as Western Pacific Railroad and Angela Street at Southern Pacific Railroad, and Street Project No. 2, designated as "Safer Off Systems" with the specific project to be determined at a later date; and WHEREAS, these projects were included in the adopted budget for 1978-79; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the funds designated as "Safer Off Systems" be used on the Railroad Off Systems, Project No. and 1; WHEREAS, funds have become available for Railroad Crossing Protection on a 10% matching basis and staff recommends that Automatic Gates be installed on the Western Pacific Railroad at Rose and Angela Streets; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approves the report of the Director of Public Works and Utilities dated September 18, 1978, and authorizes the Capital Improvement Budget for 1978-79 be amended as follows: 1. Add Automatic Gates on Western Pacific Railroad at Rose and Angela Streets. 2. Apply the Safer Off Systems Funding to the Railroad Off Systems Project. 3. Allocate an additional $10,000 from the General Fund as 10% matching funds for the crossing protection projects. Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately. III
