CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAmeDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78-255 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AMENDING CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET TO ADD <br />AUTOMATIC GATES ON WESTERN PACIFIC RAILROAD AT ROSE AND <br />ANGELA STREETS, APPLY SAFER OFF SYSTEMS FUNDING FOR THE <br />RAILROAD OFF SYSTEM PROJECT, AND ALLOCATE AN ADDITIONAL <br />$10,000 FROM THE GENERAL FUND AS 10% MATCHING FUNDS FOR <br />THE CROSSING PROTECTION PROJECTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at the City Council meeting of October 3, 1978, the Director <br />of Public Works and Utilities presented his report dated <br />September 18, 1978, regarding Street Project No. 1, designated <br />as "Railroad Off Systems" which included street and drainage <br />improvements - Bernal Avenue at Western Pacific Railroad, <br />Angela Street as Western Pacific Railroad and Angela Street <br />at Southern Pacific Railroad, and Street Project No. 2, <br />designated as "Safer Off Systems" with the specific project <br />to be determined at a later date; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these projects were included in the adopted budget for 1978-79; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />staff recommends that the funds designated as "Safer Off <br />Systems" be used on the Railroad Off Systems, Project No. <br />and <br /> <br />1; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funds have become available for Railroad Crossing Protection <br /> on a 10% matching basis and staff recommends that Automatic <br /> Gates be installed on the Western Pacific Railroad at Rose <br /> and Angela Streets; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approves the report of the Director of Public Works and <br /> Utilities dated September 18, 1978, and authorizes the Capital <br /> Improvement Budget for 1978-79 be amended as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. Add Automatic Gates on Western Pacific Railroad at <br /> Rose and Angela Streets. <br /> <br /> 2. Apply the Safer Off Systems Funding to the Railroad <br /> Off Systems Project. <br /> <br /> 3. Allocate an additional $10,000 from the General Fund as <br /> 10% matching funds for the crossing protection projects. <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately. <br /> <br />III <br /> <br /> <br />
